Story Of LCK Collective
LCK
The LCK Collective is compromised of Artists- Lacey Grey, Craig Moser, and Roxanne Yuen. After meeting as Students at Alberta University of the Arts, this collective was formed in 2021.
The LCK collective is passionate about Creative community, founded in values of authentic art creation, tea parties and working collaboratively while also honouring their individuality. Together they have created various works, including exquisite corpse (creation technique), installations for small public spaces, and the connection between food and memory.
The Greater Forest Lawn Community Cookbook -May 2022- Calgary Alberta
Working with a grant from “Activate Forest Lawn” the LCK Collective partnered with the community at the Alex food center. Community Contributors brought a prepared meal and recipe of a meaningful dish. The LCK collective interviewed Contributors about their recipes, memories, and meaning. Afterward, all materials were compiled together, with art from LCK, as a Community Cookbook.
Exquisite Corpse Shows 2021 + 2022- Loft 112- Calgary Alberta
“Exquisite Corpse” is an art activity that came out of the Surrealist movement, the work is broken into three sections and each artist creates one part, typically without knowing what the other artists created.
Nooks and Crannies Festival- July 2021- Okotoks Alberta
Nooks & Crannies is a festival where artists create temporary site-specific installations in downtown Okotoks. This art festival sees artists repurpose and animate forgotten places with ‘forgotten’ materials, bringing public art to forgotten corners of downtown Okotoks. Individual artists and teams use recycled products to create installations that raise environmental awareness, animate spaces, and entertain audiences.
The LCK Collective created an enchanted garden scene, a friendly caterpillar and magic wishing well included.
